Must buy Air Purifiers for 2022

The below article talks about the best air purifiers in the sector today, why they are highly recommended, along with some frequently asked questions about air purifiers and air quality.

Why should I buy an air purifier?

In a world with increasing pollution concerns, it is bound for everyone to recognize that there is an increasing concentration of various pollutants all around us, especially in the air. Most of these pollutants have devastating impacts on our health, including instigating diseases like cancer, cardiac conditions, respiratory diseases, etc. An air purifier would help its users to filter most of these pollutants, and reduce the impacts of these pollutants on human and animal health. Long-term exposure to airborne contaminants has devastating impacts, and air purifiers are capable of capturing up to 99.97% of toxic airborne contaminants and thus provide a way to clean out the air and provide fresh air to all its users.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Which are the best air purifiers in the market?

What is the meaning of Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR)?

Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is an established industrial standard that refers to  an air purifier’s effectivity in delivering clean and purified air to a certain space. This is usually measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM), and is an essential factor that is considered to assess the effectivity of any air cleaning technology. It was introduced by the independent Association of Home Appliance Manufactures (AHAM) in the US and is verified using independent labs. The AHAM uses this standard to ensure customers of air cleaning technology, that the company they purchase from lives up to the claims made with respect to the product (Blueair, 2020).

The CADR measures the air cleaning effectivity based on room space, volume of air cleaned, volumes of clean air produced per minute, etc. The higher the CADR, the better the device performs. A good rule of thumb to know whether the CADR of a device in consideration suits your needs, ensure that the value is at least equal to two-thirds of the room’s area (AHAM Verifide, n.d.).

Can air conditioners filter out smoke from a room?

The truth about filtering smoke from a room is that air conditioners are not capable of doing so. AC filters can remove dust, soot, and other fine particles from an enclosed space, however, most AC filters do not have the capability to filter out heavy smoke from a room in hopes to improve indoor air quality. Heavy smoke compromises a large concentration of extremely fine particles, which could easily travel through an AC’s filter, thus, essentially it would move through the filters and be pumped back into the room.
